BLENDE – HIS STORY
The term “Blende” comes from the Greek root “sphaleros” meaning “deceptive” as it can be confused with galena. References to Blende stone have been made on several occasions by specialists such as Georgius Agricola in 1546, Wallerius in 1747 and Torbern Olof Bergman in 1782. In 1847, Ernst Friedrich Glocker, a German mineralogist, also described it. From 1870 onwards, specialists called it “sphalerite”, but it was also known as “blende”, a name assigned by German miners. With a dispersion of 0.156, it is more than three times more dispersive than diamond (0.044). Its characteristic honey-like color led to its nickname “honey blende” in Spain.
HONEY BLENDE – ITS ORIGIN AND COMPOSITION
Blende stone is a zinc sulfide, which gives it a high zinc content. Because of its different shapes and aspects, this rock is highly coveted and sought-after. Collectors and jewelers particularly appreciate its gem quality, although Blende is relatively soft and can break easily. The stone requires precise cutting to achieve correct issue, but if cut correctly, it can become very rare and thus highly sought-after by experts.
The color of Blende stone varies according to the composition of its crystal lattice and the quantities of cadmium, gallium, iron or manganese it contains. Christophite and Marmatite, which contain a higher proportion of iron than other varieties, have a dark color with brown and black nuances. The wurtzite structure, specific to the mineral Wurtzite, which is integrated into the hexagonal crystal system, corresponds to a rock variety derived from the same sulfide as Blende. This purity enables this rock to be adorned with an orange, red, yellow or reddish-brown color. Blende’s rarity is also due to its high refractive index, which is close to that of diamond. Blende crystals, which can reach a diameter of around 10 centimetres, come mainly from European mountains (Asturias in Spain) and Mexican mines (Chivera). The best-known varieties of Blende are Cleiophane (low in manganese and iron) and Marmatite (rich in iron).

BLENDE ON THE PSYCHOLOGICAL LEVEL
Some specialists claim that Blende, depending on its color, can have beneficial virtues for certain people. For example, a brown to gray hue could help stabilize the mental state and balance the emotional system, while a yellowish transparency could bring joy and hapPiness. This rock is also used to combat exhaustion, weakness and memory problems, and is considered an effective means of boosting the immune system and improving brain capacity.
LE BLENDE SUR LE PLAN PHYSIQUE
Blende stone has many benefits for the body and health. It can help regulate carbohydrates, strengthen basic intestinal functions and treat skin problems thanks to its fungicidal and antibacterial properties. The zinc present in this rock helps improve protein and carbohydrate assimilation. It also provides local neuronal stimulation and immune system purification.
Although Blende has many benefits for improving health and well-being, it cannot totally replace pure medicine and should only be used as a complement.
WHITE STONE – CLEAN AND RECHARGE
Blende Stone can be cleaned and recharged in a number of ways:
Cleaning:
- Distilled water: You can clean the blende stone with distilled water. Be careful not to use running water, as it may contain minerals that could damage the stone.
- Encens: You can also cleanse blende stone by placing it in sage, palo santo or benzoin incense smoke. This method is very effective in eliminating negative energies.
Loading:
- Sunlight: The blende stone can be recharged in sunlight. Place the stone outside for a few hours to absorb the positive energies of the sun.
- Moonlight: You can also recharge the blende stone with moonlight. Place it outside during the night of a full moon for optimal recharging.
- Rock crystals: You can also place the blende stone on a cluster of rock crystals to recharge it with positive energy.
WHERE DOES THE NAME BLENDE COME FROM?
The name “blende” for blende stone comes from the German “Blenden”, meaning “to blind” or “to dupe”. The name was given to the stone because of its shiny appearance and resemblance to silver ores. Miners extracting lead ore containing blende could be fooled by this resemblance into believing they had found silver. This is why the name “blende” was used to designate this stone.
WHICH CHAKRA DOES BLENDED STONE ACT ON?
Blende Stone acts primarily on the root chakra, also known as the first chakra or Muladhara in Sanskrit. This chakra is located at the base of the sPine and is associated with stability, security, physical strength, self-confidence and connection to the Earth. Blende Stone can help balance this chakra by bringing protective and healing energy, promoting grounding and enhancing a sense of security and stability. It can also be beneficial for other chakras due to its properties of purification and transformation of negative energies.
WHICH ASTROLOGICAL SIGN IS ASSOCIATED WITH BLEND?
The astrological sign traditionally associated with Blende Stone is ScorPio. Natives of this sign are known for their emotional intensity and depth, as well as their ability to transform and rise from the ashes. Blende Stone is often used to help ScorPios connect with their inner strength, release emotional blockages and promote personal transformation. However, it’s important to note that each individual is unique and may be influenced differently by stones and astrological signs.
WHITE STONE SUMMARY
Blende stone is a mineral of the sulfide family, with the chemical formula PbS, meaning it’s composed of lead and sulfur. It is also known as galena and is often used to extract lead.
Blende stone is a dark gray to black opaque mineral with a metallic sheen. It is often associated with other minerals such as pyrite and sphalerite.
Although blende stone is mainly used to extract lead, it can also contain significant quantities of other metals such as silver, zinc and copper, making it an important resource for the mining industry.
However, blende stone is also known for its toxicity due to the presence of lead. Exposure to lead dust or fumes from handling blende stone can cause health problems such as nervous system disorders, kidney problems and developmental disorders in children. Therefore, precautions should be taken when handling blende stone to avoid lead exposure.
